Kate began her career in Accountancy after moving to the UK from South Africa, where she had been partway through a Business Science degree at the University of Cape Town, majoring in Accountancy and Finance. After settling in the UK, she continued her training and went on to qualify as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and became a professionally qualified CIMA member.
She started out at a family-run franchised motor dealership, where she progressed from Assistant Accountant to Group Management Accountant. This role gave her strong hands-on experience and exposure to the operational side of finance.
Looking to broaden her skills, Kate moved into the Facilities Management sector, where she became an integral part of the fast-paced Finance Department. Over nine years, she developed a solid track record in financial management, reporting, and business support.
In September 2020, ready for a new challenge and with a clear sense of direction she wanted to take, Kate joined DS Burge & Co. Since then, she has continued to grow within the firm, bringing together her varied experience to support clients and contribute to the firm’s leadership and became a Partner in April 2025.
